Only in Baltimore can you charge the mound, land a punch on the opposing starting pitcher, and then get free seafood for life. That's right, Jimmy's Seafood restaurant in Baltimore sent out a tweet last night offering Orioles shortstop Manny Machado free crab cakes, steamed crabs, and meal prep for the rest of his life. Hopefully he likes seafood because that sounds like one of the greatest things that could every happen to someone. Orioles outfielder Adam Jones has also offered to even pay Machado's fine from the incident.
Machado is already the golden boy in Baltimore right now and this fight last night won over many other baseball fans. It was no Rougned Odor punch on Jose Bautista, but Manny definitely still landed a good punch on Royals starting pitcher Yordano Ventura. If you watched the whole game you could see that Ventura had it coming to him. He threw high at Machado twice in the earlier innings and after hitting Manny, finally got what was coming to him. Ventura has been known to throw at batters intentionally and was suspended 7 game last year for his role in a brawl with the Chicago White Sox.
I applaud you Jimmy's Seafood. Hopefully this is step one in the process of keeping Machado in Baltimore for the rest of his career.
